What a week...

Ok folks, this is just a quick update. Maire did indeed have a seizure on Friday morning (if you have not heard). We took her to the ER, then they transported her to Children's Mercy in the city. After numerous poking, prodding, testing, EEG, blood work, etc....they decided it was a fever induced seizure. She recovered by late Friday night and we were able to return home, which was best for everyone---certainly Maire. Sleeping in her own bed was the only way we were going to get Maire to settle down and sleep after a very long and exhausting day.

She has struggled with her balance most of today, but has finally been able to walk without falling down. She is battling a nasty cold, and is very irritated by it, but overall she is doing great. We have an MRI scheduled for next week, so we are hoping that everything turns out fine.

In another update, Andy's father has rallied and is feeling much better. The beginning of this week, we prayed that God would let Rich stay with us, and He has done just that. We are so thankful for Rich's doctors, and for God's protection.

Lastly, we pray for my (Angie's) family as they struggle with the loss of a very wonderful family member. My cousin passed away suddenly on Tuesday, and our hearts break for her family left to deal with this tragedy. It had been too long since I had visited with her, and for that I'm very upset with myself. She will be missed...

Needless to say this week has been full of very low lows and very high highs. A roller coaster to say the least. I have asked Satan to leave our lives. I have officially "kicked him out"! Let's hope he stays out!

Noah Matan had a febrile seizure in December - ambulance ride to the ER and all! FREAKED us out!

We now attack any temp rise at all - most folks think we're nutso for giving tylenol at 99.3, but we say - Hey! Shoulda been at our place in December.... You'd do the same.

Sending love.

I had heard about the seizure from Dan and Lisa. So glad to hear that Maire is o.k. The Wells family has certainly had a very rough week and I am praying you all get a very long respite!

Lisa told me some news about a certain agency today. Thank goodness Maire is home!

Oh, Angie, what a week. I'm praying for a blissfully dull next 7 days. Glad Maire is okay. Hope all this testing and the MRI leads to some helpful information.

What an emotional week. I think kicking satan to the curb was a great solution to addressing the low points. Thank God that you were able to get Maire medical intervention and perhaps this seizure isn't indicative of anything greater. Liam had an MRI if you have any questions about the process for a little one. Hopine we will get to meet my cyberspeace friend soon!
